Our 2014 doggie calendar has been released. Thanks to the Communication Design and Fine Art students from MADA – Monash Art Design & Architecture, Victoria for the 2014 calendar ‘Through their eyes’. The team of first year photography students and third year graphic design students have created a real treat.
Each year we keep the brief simple. We give the students free reign and ask them to create something original and funny, providing the theme is about dogs of course! The students developed the concept ‘Through their eyes’ to be a photographic interpretation, provided from a human perspective. It’s a lovely insight into how our four legged friends live and play, pooches going about their business like our working dog in May or in April the pooch going for ‘walkies’. Or the faces a dog makes when it’s waiting for dinner as you can see in September. No dogs were harmed in the process, but some students had a bit of fun.
The students whose commitment we’d like to acknowledge (in no particular order) are: Matthew Justice, James Dobson, Simon Liversidge, Catherine Schryvers, Erin Langford, Jessica Manolitsas, Kathryn Pineda, Yanwen Zheng, Laura McKinnon, Michael Wilkinson and Natalie Tirant. The typefaces were designed by Monash Honours Graduates Vincent Chan (Jones) and Lisa Jiang (Polyfect). Thank you to the mentors too – Warren Taylor, Tobias Titz, Mimmo Cozzolino and Jenny Bolis. And thanks Andrew Ashton for being a sport (June)!
Printed 4 colour process, the cover is on HannoArt Gloss 350gsm, the internal pages are HannoArt Satin 200gsm and backing Doggett Boxboard 520UMS.
